Q & A

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Can you leave chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge overnight?

Yes

​

Chocolate covered strawberries can be kept in the refrigerator for several days when stored properly, though ideally, you'll want to enjoy them within 48 hours. Cover them in wax paper and store them in an airtight container so that the fruit won't go bad.

On the day of my event, Can I leave them out on the treats table for a few hours?

Yes

The good news is, they will keep at room temperature for as long as 10 hours, without a problem. Just leave them in a cool, dry place, uncovered, on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

WHAT IF THE PERSON I AM GIVING THIS TO HAS FOOD ALLERGIES?

Food Allergy Alert

Our Gourmet Berries are made in a residential kitchen that creates many other types of foods. All of these foods are produced on shared equipment.  For this reason, it is not a food allergen free facility.  Though our products are kept separately, there is a possibility for trace amounts of tree nuts, wheat, soy, milk, eggs, peanuts, and other food allergen contamination, due to products being made, stored, and packaged near or around other products containing these allergens.

How long do Chocolate Covered Strawberries Stay Fresh?

If you can, store in Fridge

Strawberries are fresh and are best enjoyed within 24 hours of purchase. Refrigerate until about 15-minutes before serving, and serve at room temperature before enjoying.

Condensation on Chocolate-Covered Strawberries is completely normal and is the result of using fresh fruit as the main ingredient, and storing in cool conditions to maintain freshness.

HOW TO STORE MY CHOCOLATE COVERED FRUIT?

Good Question

If you will not be eating all of your fruit the day of delivery, we suggest that you place the fruit in a nonporous container and line the bottom with paper towels.  This will absorb the liquid that will come out of the fruit.  Store the container in the fridge.

WHY IS THERE LIQUID COMING OUT OF MY FRUIT?

Completely Normal

Our products are made with fresh ripe fruit.  This means they are very juicy!  It is normal to have some liquid come out of the fruit.  You may also notice condensation on the fruit if you take them out of the fridge.  This is also normal, especially when it is more humid that normal.  Any time you take a cold item out of the fridge and bring it into a warmer, more humid environment, you will end up with some condensation.

Do you ship cakes?
A: Yes. We can ship both pound and 7 inch layer cakes via UPS anywhere in the United States.

Do your cakes freeze well?
A: Our cakes freeze beautifully up to three months

How long does a cake stay fresh?
A: As a general rule, our cakes stay fresh at room temperature up to one week.

Should I refrigerate my cake?
A: We do not recommend refrigerating the cakes; it seems to dry them out.

Do you sell fat free cakes?
A: We do not sell fat free cakes.

Do you sell sugar free cakes?
A: We do not sell sugar free cakes.

Product contains egg, milk, soy, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts and coconut. We recommend that those with food related allergies take the necessary precautions.

** Although many of our cakes/fillings are nut-free, we are not a nut-free facility.  We caution clients with allergies to consume our sweets at their own risk.**

Deposits

No Deposit No Treats

  • We require a 50% non-refundable deposit for all orders and this is due a minimum of two weeks prior to the date of the party or at the time of ordering.  If needed less than two week prior contact us via phone to place your order.

  • Due to being a small shop, we can only take so many orders per weekend. If an order is cancelled, any payment made on your order is non-refundable and non transferable. If canceled at least 120 hours (5 days) in advance (based on order date and pick up time) we will be happy to transfer any payment made on that order to another order within 3 months from that date.

Refunds / Exchanges

ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!

  • Due to the tedious, handcrafted nature of our products, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges for custom orders. 

  • Once you or a designated party has picked up an order and signed for it, it is considered "accepted" â€“ we will ask to make sure that everything is correct such as the design, spelling, etc. Refunds requested due to decorating style, writing, color shade, or general design will not be honored after signing for your cake. In some instances you may bring the cake back in for design adjustments but this is an additional charge if the cake has been signed for

  • All products are the responsibility of the customer once it leaves our shop. We are not responsible for any damage occurring to the cake during transport, set-up or any time thereafter. You will be given instructions on how to carry, transport, and store your cake upon pick up. Keep in mind that cakes are very fragile and damages can happen if not handled properly – such as cracks, smudges, melted frosting, etc. We only give refunds in accordance with refund policies stated below.

  • Cake flavor and texture is subjective. Full refunds requested due to flavor or texture after the cake has been accepted and picked up will not be honored. You may qualify for a percentage of a store credit if the product is brought back and the quality of the cake flavor or texture is determined to not meet our standards. Cakes must be brought back to us within a timely manner, preferably with 24 hours of pick up - please call or email us promptly to let us know of the issue. Quality determination is solely at the discretion of AmyCakes. Please understand that we cannot issue refunds for cakes that have already been completely eaten. *Store credit percents are based on how quickly the cake is returned, how much has been consumed, and what we determine the quality to be. Store credits of any kind will not be issued to customers who do not contact us within 48 hours. 

  • Classes are given 30 days of mentoring & advice. After 30 days you may be asked to pay for additional help.

  • If you need a refresh class that will be an additional $250 charge

  • No Refunds are given on classes only a reschedule will be allowed.

  • Classes may be canceled by either the instructor or customer. Changes to class dates are allowed to be rescheduled within a 3 months timeframe. 

Cancellation / Changes

  • Changes and cancellations to retail orders are accepted until 144 hours (6 days) prior to scheduled pick up time.

  • We cannot guarantee any changes to size, flavors, or artwork will be available if changes are made within 96 hours (4 Days).

  • We are always happy to add cupcakes to orders in the event that you need to serve more guests. Leftover cake can be frozen for another day in the event you have ordered too much for your guest count.

  • No refunds will be provided for any payments made on the order no matter the amount - if canceled at least 144 hours in advance we will be happy to transfer any payment made on that order to another order within 3 months from that date. We will provide no other refunds regardless the circumstances. 

  • Changes may be made to wedding cake flavors, servings counts, and design until 15 days before your wedding date. At that time, everything must be finalized, no changes to serving count, flavors or design after the 15 day point.

  • Classes may be canceled by either the instructor or customer. Changes to class dates are allowed to be rescheduled within a 3 months timeframe. 

  • 3D Cakes require at least one week's notice if changes want to be made to the cake, to change the date, or to cancel. You will be required to pay the full amount if the order is cancelled with less notice. This does not apply to orders that have contracts.

  • We do all that we can to make sure that your order is decorated to the specification on your written order form. Upon pick-up of your cake, adjustments can be made for an additional charge if it was not stated on your original order. If for some reason something is not decorated correctly as stated on your order, we will make necessary changes right away. 

  • Every order is hand-made. Decorative finishes are done by hand and are subject to the artistic interpretation of our expert cake decorators. You may provide us with a photograph for inspiration and duplication; however, we make no claims for exact duplication of the work done by other cake decorators.

Pick-Up Disclaimer

Pick Up

If you choose to pick up your cake and transport it yourself, we are not liable or responsible for the cake once it has left the bakery. You should prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into the cake. We do everything in our power to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes are very fragile and break easily, drive carefully and slowly.


Once the cake leaves our shop, we are not responsible for any damage occurring to the cake during transport, set-up or any time thereafter.

  • When picking up any cakes, cupcakes or pastries, Yummy T Cakes is not responsible for damages or problems that may occur once the items leave the store. If something does occur and the items are brought back to be fixed, there may be a fee for any repairs that are needed.
